One of the best B&B's I have stayed in, and we stay almost exclusively in B&Bs. Pam's
breakfast (especially her quiche) was incredible. The hospitality and accommodations
were top notch. Reviews = Rooms:1, Service:1, Value:1, Cleanliness:1, Breakfast:1+,

We had an AMAZING time staying at The Hill House - everything was perfect! Loved
our room, how close we were to the Makers Mark Distillery tour, and the
breakfast was out of this world. We will recommend you to our friends, and

Yet another terrific review here: this B and B was the perfect blend of 4-star charm and
folksy casual. Yes, Pam's creative gourmet breakfasts are out of this world! Loved
sipping coffee on the front porch and cocktails in the back at 5pm. A great central point
for taking bourbon tours over a long weekend!

Our Guest's Comments:
After years of traveling (we are senior’s, this was my wife's first stay at a B&B. She has now
told me and I quote"Whenever we travel, look at B&B's before hotels"!!! Other B&B's will
have a hard time measuring up to The Hill House. A truly wonderful stay; the gourmet
breakfast was magnificent; the Thoroughbred Room was well appointed; all of the features in
the house were comfortable; I loved the commercial refrigerator for snacks. Pam was the
most accommodating hostess. We definitely recommend The Hill House to anyone looking
for area lodging. Bill G

While travelling the Bourbon trail, we came across the Hill House B&B. Our room was spacious,
very clean, and very nicely decorated. The hostess Dena was exceptionally friendly and gracious.
The breakfast served was definitely one of the best I have experienced in all of my stays in
different B&B's. I highly recommend this establishment.
Breakfasts were wonderful! Massage exceeded my expectations. Our stay was enjoyable
and relaxing. I would go back to the Hill House. Stayed On: 1/2011

My husband and I came into town for a wedding and spent one night at The Hill House. It was a fantastic experience!
The house itself is beautiful, with gorgeous antique furnishings as well as many modern touches. As soon as we
arrived, Lisa Marie showed us around the house, then laid out a very nice spread of wine and cheese for us to enjoy
before we left to go to the wedding. We really appreciated this, as we had just spent about seven hours in the car! Our
bed was very comfortable and the house was very quiet, so we had a great night of sleep. When we woke up in the
morning, there was a delicious gourmet breakfast ready for us. Our hostesses could not have been more friendly or
charming. This is a truly wonderful place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone. You will definitely enjoy
staying at The Hill House!

The Hill House in Loretto is proof that you really can go home again. Our hostess, Mrs. Deanna Thornton provided us with a down
home welcome and true southern hospitality. My sister, Jenny and son Charles Spannknebel invited me to spend an overnight stay at
the Hill House on Friday, September 23 so that we could attend a friend’s wedding. We arrived on Friday evening and were greeted by
Mrs. Thornton.
This opportunity provided me with my first experience of seeing for myself exactly what it was like to stay in a bed and breakfast. The
Hill House provided me with comfort and a sense of security with their down home hospitality, extraordinary clean and organized
rooms and the elegant and classic antique furniture in which I have always loved. My compliments to Mrs. Thornton for providing a
wonderful breakfast consisting of country ham, eggs, hash brown, fresh fruit and homemade bread in which I thoroughly enjoyed and
completely finished. I normally do not eat a huge breakfast or a lot of food at one meal setting. The attention to detail was impeccable,
right down to the beautiful china and crystal stemware.
In conclusion, visiting the Hill House had always been one of my goals to do. Living in Lexington for the past twenty two years and
having several family members still residing in Loretto never gave me any real reason to pursue the goal. I would strongly encourage
other visitors and former Marion Countians to consider the Hill House for their next class reunion, family weddings or other special
occassions. I have always stayed at my relatives’ house and thoroughly enjoyed their company and hospitality. However, the Hill
House allowed us to stay without having to inconvenience family members and still enjoy the comforts of home. Personally the
benefits of the Hill House outweigh any of the number of hotels that I have stayed in over my lifetime. Some things always remain the
same in small towns. Loretto is very fortunate to have “The Hill House” as another treasure for them to add to their list of best kept
secrets and another blessing and place to enjoy for special events !
in their quaint town in Marion County.
Sincerely yours,
